Early elective gender scan

I mentioned in a Facebook group I want to get an early out of pocket scan next week at 16 weeks to find out the gender. There is a brand new imaging place where I live that offers this service. I know people who have had it done and have heard nothing but positive feedback. However, someone in the group basically told me the scan would be wrong and I was a terrible person for choosing to spend money on it when I could spend that money on the baby. Now, I totally understand voicing your opinion but she was downright rude about it. Anyone have one of these done?

Not even an option where I'm from. There isn't any research on the effects of ultrasounds on fetal development so most doctors advice against elective scans. I don't see how any harm could come from it. It's just sound waves.

I went to one of those places and found out at 14 weeks that I was having a boy. I am 22 weeks and he is still a boy:) It is your money and how you spend it is nobody's business. Good luck!

Right? It's actually extra money from a side job I have. That money is always my "my money." You know?

I've never had one done but i heat great feedback about them.  I gonna use the gender test from Rite-Aid. I see them do it on a show called The Doctors. So I'm gonna try it.

People always have to have something to say! Do it if you want to :) :) I totally wanted to do one but my tech at my doctors office told me my baby is in a bad position for it.

I can see not doing it if you're really struggling financially.  But, you have half your pregnancy to go and get the things you need :)
