Emergen-C??

Does anyone know if it's safe to take this while pregnant? I'm 7wks 3days.. I tried Google and a few people say it can cause a miscarriage somehow having too much vitamin c.. I'm not sure if its true, or how much you would have to have for that to really happen. Any insight would be great, I'm trying to get rid of a cold..Thanks!

Vitamin C is useless for a cold, it'll help boost your immune system before you get sick, but once you have a cold it will do absolutely nothing.

Thanks everyone.. I didn't want to risk it so I figured it was best not to take anything. I have been drinking some oj. I've been craving that anyways lol

Vitamin c is basically useless for a cold. If you feel like you still need it, drink some orange juice or get it from another natural source. Too much of any vitamin isn't good.

Only take the vitamins prescribed to u. Too much of something can cause birth defects in your child. Always follow up with your dr.

You have to be careful as it does contain other vitamins as well as a high dose of vitamin C. Combined with the prenatal that's where the issue of having too much of any vitamin comes in. You don't want to go above the daily recommended dose of any vitamin. Although vit C is water soluble, meaning the excess gets excreted in your urine, too much may have links to miscarriages ams preterm birth- but that's not necessarily proven. It would be better to just by a Vit C supplement of 500 me per tab.  You want to aim for 2000 mg a day max.

Call a doctor and ask. I wouldn't take the word of strangers when it comes to medicine
