Head down but facing out

I'm 37+ 4 and my baby is head down but instead of facing my spine she is facing out (which makes her kicks pretty uncomfortable!) Now I know that it's possible to vaginally deliver a baby in this position and that it just causes more pain including back labor. But my stupid dr told me today that its "too hard" and that it would be easier to do a c section if she doesn't turn at the last minute. Shouldn't it be up to me if its too hard? I'll take the back labor! I don't want a c section. Then he sajd "theres nothing j can do about the position." which is bullcrap! drs turn babies all the time! I feel like drs just do what's easiest for them and I honestly haven't liked my dr since day one. Today he tested me for strep b even tho I told him they already did that last time! He said no they didn't . When I left the room I went to the nurses station and asked her to check, sure enough they did check me last night and I'm negative for it. The people at my office don't know their *** from their elbows and it makes me so mad! Plus my dr didn't even check to see if I'm dilated. Last time I had the nurse practitioner and she checked and she's a million times better than my actual dr. Anyway my question is has anyone delivered a head down baby that was facing outward?

I just delivered our son last week and that's how he was facing. They had me on my left side to get him to move down better, but we didn't know he was in that position until I delivered vaginally. Good luck and best wishes!

My baby is the same way and they keep saying she is going to turn but Im 34 weeks idk if she is turning anytime soon. I hope your baby does turn :-) Listen to your gut, most doctors are so book minded they dont even think with their brain.

This is why I opted for a midwife. C sections are double the cost of vaginal birth, it sounds like he is in it for the insurance pay out. Good luck& I would be dropping him as my doctor.

Both my babies were that way and i had my second natural my first with an epidural. Its completly doable. There are some positions you can try to turn the baby or different positions in labour my son i had squatting it helped not being on my back. At the end of the day is your choice. I say go for it :-)

I delivered my first that way. My doc NEVER uttered the word c section. I will say that I pushed for 2 straight hours. That was exhausting but dive I had an epidural I can't comment to the pain. I will say I had back labor before the epidural bit I had the same with my second who was positioned correctly. I guess I'm lucky because my doc NEVER uses c section as a first resort and my 2nd was almost 10#. Make your wishes clear! :-)

It will be more painful. He's being a jerk. Stick to your plan it is very possible as long as baby is head down. It is your choice. But there are positions you can do that may cause baby to turn on their own. You should google it. Good luck. And stick to your guns. And if youbreally hate your doctor if you go into labor you can tell them you don't want them to call your doctor and to just give you the doctor on call.

My baby was face up too the Dr put me on my left side with my leg in the air for about an hour before I pushed and feeling him turn was painful. I said no to a c section. Good luck girl! <3

Wow and I thought my Dr was bad. Lol. I'm 37-1 and I didn't get checked either which I thought was stupid since I've been having contractions and ended in the hospital already Monday and are dilated to a 3 then. The only thing my Dr saw yesterday was the ultrasound and she said baby is engaged and he's also facing out.  She never said anything about it being wrong or too hard of a position or such. All she said was let her know if I have the baby lol
