Heartburn!

I'm now 28 weeks 4 days and although so many people have told me you get it bad in pregnancy I've not suffered from it up until now so I thought I was lucky but over the last few days I've been suffering soooo bad with heartburn. It wakes me up in the middle of the night and as soon as I've eaten I can feel it starting. Does anyone know of any remedies? Other than chugging loads of gaviscon and rennies lol.

They will tell you that Zantac or the generic form is safe for you. No peptol or anything like that but the zantac works pretty quickly and is easy to find. Dairy is supposed to help but didn't for me and mine got so bad I had to be prescribed two different meds to take each day for it so your doc can certainly give you something stronger if it persists.

Are you eating fast foods? That's what happened to me. I tried to pay attention to what foods gave me heartburn and avoided them (like french fries). Also I don't lay down after eating for a couple hours or bend down..so I also stopped eating right before going to bed. Its helped me without having to take tums or other remedies.
