Low iron.

Hello, I failed my iron text and the doctor wants me to start taking Slow Fe  iron pills. I'm kinda concerned because the prenatals already have iron in them and I don't want to somehow overdose my baby (if that makes sense). I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor about my concern but was wondering how many other ladies have to take iron pulls plus prenatals.

You'll excrete any extra iron. The amount of iron in your prenatals is probably not enough.  I was on 1 tab of iron a day but last two weeks had to increase to 2.
Make sure you drink a lot of water,  move around and eat fibrous food: fruit and veg, porridge etc. To combat constipation.

Just make sure you eat a fiberOne bar or something if you take the extra iron. Constipation is the worst.

I've always had low iron and was hoping the prenatles would be enough but I guess not. I feel better now knowing that so many others take extra iron.

You won't OD the baby no worries , my iron has always been low but even with my 1st son and now this pregnancy i have had extremely low iron , but my doctor told me to take vitamin D3 2000mg .. but all you gotta do is take one a day so like in the am and what not .. The reason why alot of pregnant woman get low iron is cause of the extra blood we start to produce .. and some times prenatals don't have enough iron in them for us to get
