Medicaid

I just turned in my application for medicaid. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get a response?

Any advise is helpful.

Thank you,

In oklahoma you apply online and it tells you instantly whether or not your approved and if you are then it gives you all your information to print out temporarily until your card comes in the mail.

As someone who works for benefit processing every state is different. There are different time frames income guidelines and documents needed there is no way to tell who long it will take without additional information. Also, not every state had an office to walk into and get a social worker to process your app right away.  Create an online account and monitor the application process or call the processing office and get an uodate.  Also not every state requires an interview either.

in kansas, they are wanting you to get the care you  need right away. so you are allowed to put an application in just like anything else, but if you let them know that you are pregnant, they will speed it up to where you have your card, and depending on where you live at they will ask you which plan you want, what obgyn you want as well as a pcp. good luck.

I'm 13 wks pregnant and I was wondering what you have to do to get medicaid ?
No one here will do a pregnancy verification test with a lot if money or health insurance...
Does medicaid require a positive test to get approved ? We don't normally qualify because my fiance makes 5.43 over the allowed amount.
I have no income at all......

Should put what state and county you are in. Very helpful. Even though texas has a generic waiting period some counties dontake longer or even shorter. You should be able to call like 211 in your area and get update.

In NY I apply at their office they told me the same day that I qualify and received my card in the mail within a  week. Did u apply in person at a medicaid office? If you did it by mail or online it takes longer.

Make sure your create an online account, then you can get up to date notices when you log in. Within a week they sent a request for my income info. After faxing that in I received a phone interview within two days. They then told me right then I was approved and the next day the letter was online. I am now waiting for my packet in the mail which they said could take up to thirty days. I believe I originally applied October 23.

I got approved within a week.... It took me longer to get my card and to know I was actually approved because they didn't update my address and they sent everything to my old one.... I guess it depends on where you are though.

If you're pregnant, usually right away. Within 3 days. That's what they did with me.

Typically about a month.  But they will provide retroactive coverage for up to three months.
