Pregnant but no baby?

I am 25 years old.  My last menstrual cycle was 12-7-2012.  Since then no spotting or bleeding.I took 2 home pregnancy tests that came back positive.  I should be around 5+4.  I keep having bad abdominal pain at night while I'm laying down trying to go to sleep.  My husband and I went to the hospital and had blood tests done and ultrasounds. They said they couldn't see anything in my uterus, tubes, no where!!  No baby or sack.  My HCG count is 1880 and my doctor said I was pregnant. They say I'm early in pregnancy or have an ectopic pregnancy.  Has this happened to anyone else or any advice?

They usually don't see the baby until 7 weeks and even then its hard to find. Keep taking care of yourself and relax. Congrats on your pregnancy.

Same thing happened to me at 5 weeks 2 days. My doc checked my hcg level that day then had me come back for a recheck in 48 hours. He said as long as my hcg level went up then it was safe to say I was pregnant.  Went back at 8 weeks and they found the baby on ultrasound. Doc said it wasprobably too early the first time to see it on ultrasound. Just take vitamins and make healthy eating choices and hopefully your next appt will bring good news!

Thank you!!  We just got out of there!  My HCG went from 1880 to 4700 in 2 days!!  The doctor says the pain is/was probably just the implantation process!!  He said everything seems great!!!  I have another appointment on Wednesday!!   I am so so so happy right now!!!  If the math is right, the baby is due September 13th!!!!  :)

Almost the same with me. After getting a +ve hpt and +ve blood test, a day after implantation, i was really excited. Today(about 2 weeks later),  my ultrasound showed there was nothing. No sac or anything. Did another urine test and it was negative. But my doctor was concerned since i am 5 days late and no sign of PMS nor pregnancy. Now i need to see specialist to conduct tests because they need to investigate the false +ves that i get earlier on.

I do as the previous post said as there has been a news artical that said the sooner you find out there is a chance they can be wrong as the scan isn't suppost to do a scan till 8 or 10 week mark some scans can and are wrong so don't stress out its not good for you or the baby eat healthy and take folic acid take care of your self love xx

It's a missed miscarriage, I went thru that my first pregnancy, they didn't know if it was in my tube or not but at d&c thankfully it wasn't in my tube, doctor told me I lost the baby around 8 weeks

This happened to two of my friends. One they told she had a sac and no baby. Went back two weeks later and there baby was. The other friend was told she miscarried then found out at 4monthsa she actually hadn't. My advice is keep taking care of yourself as if you are and wait a lil bit longer
