Questions for induction

Is induction more pain n lasts longer than a natural labor contractions for first time mom specially? Does it lead c section?  For already moms how was your experience please? What happen? How many hours were you on labor? How was the baby's health over all, like the heart rate and delivering process? Everything? Would you suggest to get epidural when induced for it might slow down contractions? Thanks

Also babies health was good and my labors were all 7 ish hours longest pushing time was 1 hour. I also had epidurals with all of mine and it didn't seem to slow anything down.

I've been induced two out of three times and for me, pitocin was horrible, although it could have been the docs fault too because I had other issues as well hence not using them this time. For me the cervadil was much closer to natural. No csection on any of them. The closest I got to possibly having a c section was the one I went into labor on my own.... Relax sweetheart breath it'll be ok. I know its scary. If nothing else you have support here. Blessings!

You can research some of the answers to your questions but it is a fact that mothers who are induced have a higher c-section rate.

I was induced with 4 of my pregnancies and only with my first my water broke. I have had all five of my children vaginaly, and how the same for number six. I was in there for almost 2 days with each one. It can take a long time but every woman is different as is every pregnancy! Good luck!!!

With my first born i was induced. I was in labor for a total 12hrs, and only pushed 45min @10cm. My daughter was healthy and born vaginal. I had epidural and it slowed my labor by an hr! The contractions werent that bad, but did get really strong after 5cm, hint y i got drugs!! Best of luck

I was induced with a very low dose of pitocin with my last two pregnancies and they were the same as my other two labors...I had no epidural with any of them...my sister on the other hand had to use pitocin on her last labor and her contractions were much more intense  and labor wad slower then her other two...she got the epidural for the first time and it actually progressed her labor...so I really think its different for everyone

But my babies health was perfect and I was fine without pain meds. Labors were 10-15 hours.

I was induced with both my pregnancies. It does make your contractions much harder and can make labor longer which was true for me. It was the most intense pain ever felt and I def am trying to go naturally into labor this time and see I'd the labor is a little less harsh.

Morning. I'm pregnant with my third I'm 31wks. I was induced with my 1st and to be honest the experience wasn't very nice. It took four long days for the 24 hr pessary to have any effect on me. When I hit 4cms I went to labour ward. They broke my waters and left me for an hour to see if I would progress on my own which I didn't so they hooked me up to the drip to speed things up. My contractions become alot quicker and more intense. The pain felt forced (my second baby came naturally so the difference between natural contractions and induced ones was horrible) I was advised to have an epidural because of my bp which didn't hurt having it done but slowed everything right down. My sons heartbeat showed he was stressed so I ended up with a forceps delivery. Now this is my experience and its not to say you will end up like this. Many ladies have successful inductions and labour quickly. I think it depends on if your body is ready in some respects because mine definitely was not. The epidural I had because my bp was up and down and also I was extremely tired and I could have a few hours sleep. I personally wont have one ever again unless its necessary. Again just my experience some ladies have no issues with them and have births with no help needed. Every labour is different. My second was totally different from my first.xx
