Scared

I have Sickle Cell Anemia (SS). And I'm in denial about being pregnant. I took 7 test, and the blood test. I have my first appointment coming up next week. I'm scared as hell. I was told during an after my pregnancy 7 yrs ago with my daughter, that I'm allergic to pregnancy. I don't know what to do.

Yes. I have a great team. I learned through them I was pregnant, and they sprang into action. Set my appointments up with the ob/gyn. They are on top of it. But during and after my first pregnancy they told me I was allergic to pregnancy. I tried for 7 years to get my tube tide. It's crazy we both almost passed away. I had pre-eclampsia also. My baby was 2 months early. And she just went through the withdrawals. She is healthy no health issues, or learning issues. I'm just... I don't know. Crying for no reason at night, nothing will stay down. I know God won't put more on me. It is a lot.

Do u have a hematologist, or someone who can help you from going into crisis.  You may need transfusions to help reduce your blood cells from sickling and to keep them more normal.  I've never heard of a SSC pt being allergic to pregnancy, just high risk. As long as u f/u with your ob and hematologist they will help guide you through.  Don't stress too much, I have 4 SSC pts as mothers with 4-3 kids.  And they are doing very well.
