Stomach Virus while pregnant

This is a first for me. I have the stomach virus and it is 10 times worse than it ever has been. I am 11 weeks pregnant. I can't hold anything down not even water... does anyone have suggestions? I am in fear of dehydration at this point.

I too got the flu this pregnancy. Then it went through my house. And being in my first trimester and having to clean up other people puke etc was no fun!  It was awful!  I agree drink lots of fluids. Try some gateraid once you have been able to hold some water down.

I've had it twice now with this pregnancy alone. First time I went to the Er. I knew after expelling everything I had that I needed fluids, but everyone I drank, is vomit. Nurse at the er told me just to wait till about 12 or so hours after the symptoms began and then to sip for a few more hours. They did give me an iv of fluids, then sent me home when there was nothing else to do but wait for it to pass. The second time, I just stayed home and waited it out, drank later in the after noon, only swished water before that. Had no cramping other than GI related (and I could tell the difference!), and slept as much as I could. Good luck to ya hun!

While i wouldnt worry about keeping food down for now fluids are another story,if you cant keep any fluids down you really need to go to the er,they will just put you on a drip for a bit to make sure you are kept hydrated, dehydration in pregnancy is dangerous so go get checked out

I had that with my first pregnancy and went to ER b/c I felt like I was going to pass out from vomiting and diarrhea. Got IV meds and fluids and felt much better.

I'm pregnant and I had it two weeks ago. The doctor was trying to convince me at first that it was morning sickness until they couldn't get my vomiting under control. I ended up having to get 3 types of medicines and fluids. It's best if you get seen, because you don't want to get dehydrated while pregnant.

At 11 weeks I had the sae exact thing, it lasted 2 weeks I hardly left my bed.little sips of Diet sprite and water worked for me. I craved food the whole time but was way to sick to eat. Lots of rest, I actually lost 5lbs being sick but I had an appointment at 12 weeks and everything was good. I'd say call your Dr if you feel its bad enough. Hope u feel better soon, being sick is no fun especially at 11weeks

I had this around 12 weeks. Go to the ER for anti nausea meds and fluids. They ended up giving me 3 bags.

Last month my husband and I had food poisoning.  When I went to the hospital, the dr told me that when you drink water/fluids you actually only loose about 50% of your intake when you vomit. Keep drinking water and call your dr asap! They might tell you to come into the office or head straight to the ER.
