What were you doing when you went into labor?
Just wondering what you all went through to maybe help my expectations...

These are so much fun to read! I'm bumping hoping for more!
With my forst son I was at school in economics class. My stomach was hurting, so I tapped one of my friends/classmate and told her my stomach was hurting. She asked me if I was going into labor and if she needed to pull the teach aside and tell her. I said no, maybe I'm just hungry again (although we just had lunch about an hour before class lol) Luckily it was my last class for the day. After class was over I went to my son's father. I toldthe exact same thing I told my friend he aslo asked me if I was going into labor. I told him idk and tht I was just gonna go hme and take a nap and tht ill call him if anything happens. So in the middle of the night I woke up out of a dead sleep (about 1am)only to realize tht my stomach pain have gotten worse! Thank God my sis was visiting from texas (I was in mississippi living wit my mom) bc I was going into labor, my mom wouldn't hve made ithme to take me to the hhospital. I told my sis tht I was in labor and to take me to pick up my son's father then take us to the hospital. Without a word she grabbed her keys and my had and we left. I called him and told him to get his butt up I'm in labor. When we made it to the hospital I was 3 cm. They said if I dialte to 5cm they'll admit me. About 2 hours later they checked me and I was 6cm! They sent me to a room and the doc broke my water at 8am! When I was ready to push the doc was nowhere in the hospital! I was so pissed I told the nurse to go find him NOW or get me another doc bc this baby is coming NOW! So I guess she told him and about 20-30 min later he walked in ready to deliver my son. He was born 10:39am! Hes 8 as of today (sept. 13th) My second son I was induced! (He's 2)

It was awful I hope my labour story for this little guy will be - arranged section went hospital got bby .

Waters broke one hour before birth for baby 1 and three minutes before birth for baby 2.

Both my labours started with diarrhea lol. Then I thought I was having more bowel cramps but they turned into uterus contractions. Not very exciting!

Amazing to read all the stories here's mine...
I was already in hospital and having "contractions" but with no pattern to them on the Wednesday night like 4am-7 I was on my hands and knees with the pain vomiting blood lumps and vile liquids a surgeon came and put a line into my neck and pumped some anti sickness into me.
By 9am Thursday morning the consultant came and said I could go home. , I rolled over in the bed and said I'm sick and fell back asleep.
He left and phoned my mother - my mother because she was next of kin.
My mam arrived at about 3pm & the nurses told her I was sick and to fight the consultant we requested him to come. I was screaming in pain and told my mam the baby was gone. But we could see her moving under skin at my bellybutton right side.
Consultant arrived around 4.30/4.40pm - he told my mother I had problems I wasn't really sick or painful. My mother fought him with words eventually he said he'd check himself he gave me an eternal exam while I cried in pain and he ran out of the room a nurse put me on the toilet and walking back a team of drs surgons etc arrived and pulled off my pjs and ran with me on a trolly... while pushing canulas into me and having me sign sheets I didn't get to read -
We were in teather - I heard someone shout babys out .
My daughter was born at 5.09pm
only 14mins after internal exam.
She was taken to nicu and I was fixed up and taken to icu , I don't remember much of icu.
But having my bby in nicu was awful. :(
I'd had a full placenta abruption but I never bled out my bleeding all stayed internal. My uterus ruptured too and my daughter had been pushed out of my uterus and was under my skin ! :(
Thankfully she's fine now and she's five yrs old.
I never wanted another pregnancy after my experience - but this was a surprise pregnancy and I'm really enjoying being pregnant.
I'm terrified of delivery though or any more things happening .

I had a feeling I was going into labor but my contractions where not regular and so my husband and I decided to go ahead a go to dinner with his father for his birthday. As I was at the resturant I began timing my contractions and could not eat anything. Finally after dinner was over we came home let our dogs out one more time and grab out bags as I called the hospital. When I arrived around midnight I was only about 4 cm but they agreed it was active labor and admitted me. My water did not break until hours later but it was on its own. I had my daughter just after noon. Pregnant now with my second and hoping it will be a similar (maybe without the dinner with his whole family) experience.
My labor started with period like cramps around midnight. When I used the bathroom I noticed I was losing my mucus plug. My water was popped at the hospital and she was born just before midnight on her due date, not 24 hours after labor started.
^^my water broke at the hospital...not even 5min before my baby came, literally broke and then she crowned. That's my labour with baby #2
I was out for my morning walk... When I got home I took a nice warm shower to help relieve the contractions. Went to the hospital and had baby about 30min after getting up to the maternity floor, the crazy lady in admitting wanted to ask me 1,001 questions before letting me go up, I wanted to take off running up to the maternity floor cause the guy pushing the wheel chair was walking so casually, lol.
I was in the bed, got up to use the bathroom and my water broke. I don't think I ever ran so fast to the bathroom, lol.
So jealous. I wish I had a story. I got induced due to my placenta and ended up with an emergency csection. I guess I'm ok without having my water break in public.☺
Sleeping. I remember it was my first offical day of Mat leave and I was up from habit but rolled over to go back to sleep and felt a pop and my water broke.
With my first I was alseep and I woke up to cramps but didn't think anything of it so I decided to go to the bathroom while I was up and when I did I realized my shorts were wet and I went to the bathroom changed and washed off thinking it was discharge cause I had been sent home with the same thing but I couldn't make it to the bedroom before it was wet again and my cramps were hurting like crazy so we started timing them and they were 5 min apart! So I went in to l&d @5am My first daughter born that same day at 1:44pm!
I was in town shopping when my labour started at 11am, by 2am the next day I was in hosp and had my little boy at 12.46pm. They had to break my waters for me in hospital as they wouldnt break naturally. That was 7 years ago, so a little nervous now, hoping it wont be as long this time!
Trying to hike with my husband and oldest son in the woods behind our house. I had started leaking out of nowhere like a week after a trip to the hospital for the exact same thing and initially ignored it bc the hospital had sent me home. I kept just trying to sit down but as soon as I stood I had to be like 'wth? I'll b back' (that's me talking to my husband lol). I ended up sitting on the toilet for like fifteen minutes just letting it come out into a disposable cup. My husband finally came in to check on me, gave me this weird look and was like 'what r u doing?' I said that I think my water broke and if the hospital don't believe me this time I'm gonna give them this cup of stuff to prove it lmao Thirteen hours later (yes, thirteen), my youngest was here and he's awesome. I'm so curious how my new labor story is gonna go down. Ask the question again in January lmao
Everything started at 4am. I woke up and felt strange with a stomach pain like for period. 2 hours later I was on my knees but copying very well. Around 8am I asked my bf to finish work and get back home asap as he did. Once he saw me on my knees with both hands on the wall he called to hospital. Waters still didnt break so I thought once I get to hospital they will simply send me back so I was waiting... Around 11am after another phone call to labour department they said I can come.. I was 6cm already and i was surprised that its not so painful!! I didnt know that the worst is still in front of me... 2pm i was asking or more shouting for epidural. They said AM DOING WELL sounded like a good joke. The worst part was pushing . It last 45min but after that... Oh God Almighty!!! The whole pain just gone and when I saw a fruit of my pain I felt like I won an Olimpic gold medal! I was proud , strong and sooooo happy!
Also, they broke my waters after the fact that i was bleeding everywhere and they decided i was actually in labor, it took them 3 hours to.check my cervix (i was a 8) and by then i was already bearing down, and they kept telling me "no, don't push" but it was uncontrollable, lol. Darn nurses.
My first i was doing my hair in the bathroom and went to grab some hair spray and.a gush of water came ut, lol. I.was already have Braxton hicks but they weren't regular so when my water broke it was bittersweet and shocking, lol.
With my Second, my placenta ruptured and i didn't even know it, 1 day later i.was cooking and i started having contractions 2 minutes apart. She was in the NICU for 2 weeks, it was the wrist thing in the world!!

I had worked. Then got home about 12 and was feeling some cramps. By 2 they were strong and when I had to be on my hands and knees when I was contracting and crying I knew it was time. I had her with in 2 hours of going to hospital. That was my second. Now I'm told the third will probably come faster but now I'm not a block away from hospital any more so I get worried.
