Working out during pregnancy

I ised to be a runner. It's been years since I've been dedicated to running and now that I am 23 weeks along, I don't think I need to try to test my old skills. But I would like to have. Work out regime. I'm gaining more weight that I want to with this pregnancy and selective eating habits alone aren't cutting it. I tried yoga. Too uncomfortable. I tried squats and I couldn't walk for a week. I walk 5 days a week for 30 minutes a day & it's not enough... is there anything else that works that's not too vigorous?

I have been running for the past two years. I was running 4 miles comfortably when i first got pregnant. I continued with a couple of 5k runs during my pregnancy. My last run was back in November around 25 weeks. It was just to uncomfortable. I do and hour of cardio a few times a week. Staying somewhat in shape has made this pregnancy far better than my other two. I am currently 36 weeks and not miserable.  I hope this helps. Keep up the good work:)

But if it was already in your routine before pregnancy. She told me she had a heart rate monitor and made sure her heart didn't shoot up too high During her workouts. so check with the Dr. On What the baby's heart rate should be when working out.

I swim and do light weight training. But not very often. I'm okay with gaining weight in pregnancy though. It comes off just fine after baby with just a little effort.

I've been following a lot of fit mommy's on IG and read that if u are active it will help with faster recovery after birth, its so inspiring to see these mommys do their thang! One of my gym partners who's also a cop said 10 years while she was preggers she the gym was her home and she worked out til she had to give birth and she's in her mid 30s and looks Great! I believe its the most healthiest thing for you and baby.

I was doing two a days at the gym and my doctor told me just not to add extra weight or push myself too hard... Although after about 22 wks I gave up on the gym I was just too tired but I was also on my feet at work for 8+ hours a day... You could try bikes, elliptical, or light weight training :) I tried lunges today and toppled over lol but i'm 38 wks hahaha

Wow I could of wrote this myself! I too am 23 weeks..i have been working out and was just getting into running when I got pregnant and it was too uncomfortable to continue.  No matter what works out I do or how often and how good I eat I continue to gain and gain weight! I've asked my doc and she told me to not worry. She asked if I lost weight before I got pregnant which I did and she says that if you lose weight before pregnancy that pregnancy can make you gain weight easily (don't know if you lost weight before or not) she said that our bodies are going to gain what it needs and once I give birth I'll continue to get back to doing regular workouts and nurse and hope to lose it quickly!

Good question, and I'd like to hear from more fit moms and their journey for fitness while pregnancy. I've been working out 5 days a week doing kick boxing for 2.5 yrs and I've heard as long as you've been active before ur pregnancy its OK but to take it easy. Still have yet to ask the Dr. But I hope more moms to be reply.
