advance maternal pregnancy...lame!

So my doctor said that I am considered an "advanced maternal pregnancy" which means more tests screening & monitoring.   I feel like this is a joke.  I'm 34 now, but will be 35 when this baby is due. I still feel young, had no problem conceiving (within a month) and have generally always been a healthy person.  Delivered healthy big 9lb babies just 5 & 6 years ago.

Not sure if I want to deal with all this extra medical process through out the pregnancy. I'm not an old maid, but rule felt like it the more & more my doc talked.

Gosh I would love to get any kind of assistance,  but doubt I would qualify.   The hubs has a job, which is a decent job, but just really bad insurance.  Medicaid is a joke.  He was laid off about two years ago and we went on unemployment,  well we applied for medicaid and we're denied because we had too much money coming in from unemployment.   And the money that we were receiving for unemployment was below what would even be considered poverty level.   (I shake my head at the system)

You could try getting on Medicaid. Honestly, the stress of having to pay for all of these would destroy me :-(

I'm in the same boat.  I'm currently 34, but will be 35 when I deliver.   They've offered many different tests, I am taking them, I just want to make sure everything is ok.

Bc the older we get the higher the risk for autism down syndrome and everything else so they like to monitor closer to make sure baby is healthy.

It also means more money I have to pay.  Today's visit alone was $200 copay, and that doest even include the ultrasound,  which I will be receiving a bill for later.  Sigh....

I would just go ahead and deal with it. It has nothing to do with your age but how old your eggs are.

You'll probably get more ultrasound and closer monitoring.   I can't see the negative in that.

I would be following their instructions. It's just because over certain age brackets some risks increase and their extra checks are just to make sure you and baby are ok!!
