asking to be induced.

Has anyone else asked to be induced and what was the doctors answer/concern? My brother is coming in from Hawaii but leaves the week before I'm due. I was going to see if she would induce me so he would be here for the birth since this is his only nephew and with him beingin the military he only comes home every 4 years.

You can be induced a week before due date if no medical problems not any earlier if baby and mom have no problems. I asked my doctor and that is what she told me was induced with my first for medical problems I liked being able to plan around my work since I do home health. And I wanted to induce again so I know when to take off work since I have to go unpaid. Hope this helps.

Yes I'm hoping she allows me to get induced. Last time I seen my brother was 5 years ago. I have a niece I haven't even seen because he's in the military and isn't able to come home all the time and I'd love to have pictures of him with my son when he's a baby for the baby book and picture frames. So I'm praying she says yes.

I am due jan9th. Scheduled c section at jan 2. At 39 weeks. But I was.going.to try and self.induce around 36 bc my sister.is.going to be up from south Carolina until the 21st. I'm attempting vbac so I won't be allowed to be induced with pitocin unless I go Into labor on my own I'm stuck with a section!!!!

I'm getting  8nduced at 39 weeks this is my second  baby first one was 40w 2 days and came on her own. I have heart problems  so that is why we are inducing but I'm scared. What is it like

I asked to be induced 2 days early with my first one and my dr, said okay. I also ended up being induced with my second cause my water broke but I didn't go into labor. I'm going to ask to be induced this weekend at my appointment tomorrow because husband goes to school every night. With the holiday hell be off for 4 days so it seems like a good window to labor so he doesn't miss school.

I asked my dr this morning for an induction and ge said yes. My first was induced at 41 weeks. He said yes because this is my second and the first was overdue and not coming in the slightest. He said that chances are my second will also be overdue and end up being an induction. He considers 39 wks fullterm which is when the second will be induced. I was so relieved

I asked to be induced with my third and fourth. The Dr was more than happy to do it because of the risk of my baby being too big. He looked relieved I asked.

Im 37 weeks and 5 days I asked bc of many reasons but mainly being uncomfortable I have been having contractions for three  weeks now and a week ago was only at 2 cm he told me no flat out bc the baby is happy and content with my body contracting constantly....:/

My dr actually offered it to me the other day if i make it to 39 weeks because i live an hour and a half from the hospital. Im 32 weeks now so im hoping i go full term and past 39 weeks so i can have one scheduled and be there in time!

Im asking at my appt today because my bf works a hectic job and im afraid that when the time comes I wont be able to get a hold of him and he'll be far away so he'll have to rush over

That's what I've heard. I'm due December 17th and I was hoping she would the week before. I'd love to have him here for Christmas also but if not Christmas then new years. I guess all I can do is ask tomorrow at my appointment.

Yep, I did with my first baby.  I was past my due date and it was the week of Christmas!  I really wanted to have the baby before Christmas.  Nope. They told me flat out no.  Doctors don't like to induce for first babies because of a higher rate of c sections.  So, I was 10 days past my due date (and had him right before new years) when I had my baby.  

My second child, they induced at 39 weeks and they offered without me asking.  The concern is really first babies.
