baby boy!
My husband and I love the name Dexter. We got it from the little red headed scientist cartoon dexters laboratory, but everyone who ive told so far has assumed its from that new show Dexter about the csi sereal killer guy... I know I shouldnt let others people sway my opinion but still I dont want people to think my kids named after a killer... grr
Sorry was unable to finish the comment: 947 people named that way!!! If you love the name keep it, Dexter show will finish ,soon people will forget about it but your son is your son...he will always be there whe he is older that generation wouldn't even know who Dexter from the series is!!!
Dexter is a cute name and the character is amazing!!! My son likes the show...who knows probably he will grow with the idea of being a scientist and to watch a cartoon with his name on it he will feel great, trust me people never agree with names, they always find something to ruin it for you, i want to name my Daughter Olivia were i live since 1930 there has only 947

Don't worry too much about it.
Before we knew we were having a girl we considered Nelson as a name and we thought of Nelson Mandela.
But everyone I mentioned it to immediately thought of Nelson the bully from The Simpsons series, the guy who points at someone elses misfortune and laughs: "Haa-Ha!"
which I also found disappointing.
Then again, my colleagues are maybe watching The Simpsons more than International news/history?

In the end it doesn't matter.. the kid will grow up and make their name their own :)

Be comfortable with the name you pick for your baby. Worry about what other think last.
