If there is a csection class, I'd suggest doing it. I went into my csection pretty much just knowing that I was getting a shot in the back and then cut open. I was naive and my doctor wasn't exactly very chatty at appointments. It was pretty traumatizing for me (especially the recovery), so I'd suggest to ask for as much info as you can get!
Thank you ladies. I really appreciate everyones opinions :) I'm a ftm & just wanna soak up all the info I can.
Check with your hospital to see if they have a planned c-section class. The hospital that I'm going to has several different birthing class options and planned c-section is one of them.
I'm taking a child birth class because I'm hoping to have a natural birth and they teach all of the breathing techniques and what not, and even though I know a lot of what's going on, it'll be nice for my hubby to understand the process as well. Also we have our hospital tour at the end and its not really a big expense, $130 for the whole day class.
I'm not taking any classes. This is my first also. I rather spend money on stuff we need rather than classes. You can Google and YouTube everything these days and there are always friends and relatives and doctors to ask if you have a question.
I didn't because I knew at 20 weeks that a csection was likely and then it was confirmed at about 34 weeks. I kind of wish I had though because now I am pregnant again and really want a VBAC.
I would probably save my money. I didnt take birthing classes with my 1st born and things worked out just fine. I would spend the money on something you want or need for baby
I would say go. You might learn something you might not. From my understanding of the classes here they teach you about c-section what to expect healing possible issues etc
