You can take Tylenol cold and flu or robetussin DM. That's what I'm taking for a horrible cough and it helped a lot

There are a few studies that say you shouldn't take sudafed while pregnant but it was on my approved list as well and my doctor said I could take it short term. It helped me when I was suck last month. I only took it for a few days. I took it during past pregnancies as well and my girls were fine.
Sudafed, benadryl, robitussin, cough drops all helped.

Why shouldn't take Sudafed?  Its on the approved list i recieved from my doctor and I've taken it in each of my pregnancies. Like all OTC med it should be taken in moderation but if your cold lasts longer than a week than you should be going to the doc anyhow.

Mucinex, robitussin, cough drops and vicks vapor rub are all safe. Using a humidifier may help as well.

My doc told me I could only take Dayquil not Nyquil. But if after 4days I was still severly sick to see my normal familu doctor. I only took it for 3days and satrted to feel wayyyyy better. I did drink real ginger tea with lemon and honey twice a day which helped. It opens ur poors to release whatever it is u might have and makes u pee like crazy. .lol

Yes there are a lot of safe OTC meds for cold. Tylenol, Tylenol plus, Sudafed, Sudafed PE, Vicks 44 are the few that come to mind right away.
