My first was born at 36 week's. I was put on bed rest because of issues they thought baby had and I had no exersize. I started showing signs of labor weeks before I went into labor. If I would have went to hospital they would have kept me and made me wait it out there and I could have been waiting a week maybe more. Baby was measuring large so I took a dose of castor oil and started contractions by the next morning I was in labor My water broke and I had baby. I was actually 35+6. Baby was 8 and a half pounds and had mature lungs.

I would have went before my due date regardless but I did not want to go to my next appointment because they had told me to go to labor and delivery and I did not want to be stuck there for over a week.

Not all first time moms go over. It just depends on your body and how ready it is.

I think some people just have different gestation periods. I went 12 days over with my first and fourteen with my second, and though they showed some signs of being 'overdue', neither had passed meconium or had any other issues. Some people always go early. Sometimes there's not much you can do to affect it. Patience will be your best friend. Give your baby the time it needs inside.

With my first son I went into labor at 39 wks.  Lost my part of my mucus plug at 38 wks and the rest of my mucus plug 4 days later only hours before I went into labor.  So it's mostly true, but I my case as a ftm it wasn't..

I think being active makes a difference - I do a LOT of walking and had my baby several days early

I was 3 weeks early with my first. It was prefect timing! He was only 5lbs, but he was fully developed and we fattened him up quickly once he was out (Mississippi & Louisiana grandmothers lol)! I needed to have him earlier than my due date because my husband's job was transferring him across country. Took a lil castor oil one night, woke up when my water broke at 1am, 12hrs later had my buddy!

My first is was two days early, my second I was a week late and then induced cuz she still wasn't coming. Idk how active u are.. but walking, being active and sex helps bring it and make it an easier labor.
