fell down stairs

I'm 29 weeks and my foot slipped from under me. I fell on my butt/back and slide down 5 steps only because I caught my self on the banister. I hit my foot in between my toes and have a laceration. It's bleeding pretty good. Than I had diarrhea sort of. I think it was from being scared from the fall. I feel the baby move. I think she's fine since she's moving. Has anyone fell down the stairs? If so, should I be worried or is the baby really cushioned and no need to worry?

My opinion is you should go get checked just to be sure. It's good that you are feeling the baby move,  but I always like to air on the side of caution. Everybody/situation is different so just because others are fine doesn't guarantee anything.

I fell down about 4 steps on my deck and onto my butt on the grass when i was around 30 weeks. I lost my balance and sprained my ankle. As long as you feel baby move and didnt hit any part of your belly then you should be fine. I was.

I'd go get checked. Can't hurt and they can tell you everything is or isn't OK. You'd hate to find out later that something went wrong.

Hi there.  Well the baby IS pretty cushioned.  I fell the same way you are describing, hitting  my butt.  I didn't grab the banister though so went down pretty hard. I then drove 4 hours to meet my husband on a family vacation.  By the time I got to my destination, I was bleeding red blood.  I was put on bed rest.  We got back home (I laid in the back) and stayed in bed for a full week and ended up being fine.  My baby was born full term.  I was 17 weeks when it happened.

Try not to worry though.  You'll have bleeding most likely if it was a bad enough hit and holding the banister probably helped a great deal. good luck sweetie
