I would exercise everyday to keep my numbers downwith my last pregnancy. In the morning after breakfast I would walk in my livingroom or do a pregnancy workout dvd. Then in the evenings I would take a walk in the park or I would do a prenatal yoga video. This really helped me keep my numbers down. Whenever I missed a workout day/night my fasting numbers the next morning were really high.

My numbers are borderline high sometimes. I dont get it myself. I just eat more protien if I eat high carbs and paying attention to sugars and carbs in a food helps me more then just paying attention to carbs. This diet is getting difficult with Halloween right around the corner. I want some damn candy lol

I also test 1hr after my first bite of food and I check 4times daily. The only number I have problems with is my fasting sugar in the morning so I take long lasting insulin before bed. After meals are supposed to be 130 and lower.

I was able to eat anything ... the key is more protein in your diet & a brisk walk after your meal or a little salsa dance! Thats how i controlled my numbers. At first i tried the diets recommended by the drs....but i was always still hungry or sometimes over on my #s.

I guess I shouldve clarified that I tested 2 hrs after I ate. It does sound like I did it after 30 min.

You should check your blood sugar 2  hours after every meal. I was told this week I have GD and I am developing preeclampsia and while I was at the hospital for blood pressure monitoring overnight they took mine two hours after every meal. They told me to check in the morning before I get out of bed two hours after every meal and before I go to bed.

See my dr. told me the 130s were ok for after meals. And I still run higher then that. I wouldn't worry about one reading though but if that's high for you and you are still worried you can always call your Dr. I'm still new with the while gd thing and trying to figure it all out :/ hope for the best for you

Well I had a chicken sandwich and a couple of fries from burger king. I checked and made sure I was in my range which is 60g. The sandwich only had 46g and I only had like 6 fries. After we ate we went and walked a corn maze for like 30 min and my sugar was still 134. Im usually really good but it seems like every other week ill get a high reading when it shouldn't be. My ob said something to me about meds too but my baby isn't big hes normal so idk. I don't have to go in for nst or weekly u/s. Just aggravates me.
