gestational diabetes??

My chances of developing diabetes are high, both my parents have diabetes, I got tested at 10 weeks and got normal results, at 16 weeks I got another test (due to having glucose on my urine) and my one hr came back slightly elevated 156/140 and had to do the 3 hr and got normal results! Today I eat at 9 am, I had a sprite with my meal, and I decided to check my blood sugar with my mom's machine, and to my surprise my reading came 99 after 3 hrs, it is a normal number right?? I'm 27 weeks 3 days!

I  forgot to mention as pregnancy progresses hormones change. It will effect you glucose. If you are worried ask to see a GD clinic, doctors or specialist. I'm Canadian so our GD system is different.

And yeah dont drink any juice or soda or anything else sugary and start a low carb diet to help prevent getting it.  (All carbs r turned into sugar, u still need some carbs just watch it and eat high fiber and protien)

I have GD and i am supposed to test 1 hour after eating, not three.  Some people r told to test 2 hours after for some reason, but 3 is too long.  At a one hour testing its a good reading as long as its under 120.

I had early signs of GD. My glucose tolerance test was negative but my fast was high. The GD clinic put me on tests 4times a day. Wake up, then 2hours after breakfast, lunch and dinner. Diet is the best way to control it. My dietitian told me no juice, pop. I have had to begin insulin at 18 weeks at bedtime. Unfortunately here we use a different number system.
