I hope people aren't trying to pass under false pretenses..... why would anyone want to risk their baby's health?  If you fail the test your doctor will help you take the necessary steps to deliver a healthy baby.

Why would you ladies want to "fake or trick" the test? Its better to know if your baby is in danger. Won't you feel horrible if you pass your test because you tricked it and you baby ends up harmed because you were disingenuous. You should eat as you normally do and fast for 8 hrs prior that's it.

If you have gestational diabetes you can't trick the test into thinking you don't. Either your blood sugar will balance out correctly or it won't. It's better to know if you have diabetes than trying to find a way to beat the test and go the remainder of the pregnancy with high blood sugar and likely a huge, over nourished, baby as a result. Do what they tell you to do prior to testing. It's for the health of the baby.

Jodie, does that also apply to the one hour test? I'm taking the one hour test on the 1st of May and call myself trying to cut out sweets now. Can I still indulge until next week? Lol

Don't fast any longer the 12 hours otherwise the test cannot be performed because you willl have fasted to long.

There is nothing u can really do ....I had diabetes with my first daughter and it's better to know then just pass the test she was born with pulmonary hypertension due to the high sugars and stayed in the nicu for 11 and went home on oxygen for a month!  the test is very important and I've passed my first one this pregnancy but I also lost a lot of weight before I got pregnant! I still see my high risk doc for this pregnancy!  My doc tells me to do what I normally do before the 1hr but I think for the 3hr ur supposed to fast but call the office and make sure! It's for the best interest of ur baby I was sad at 30 weeks last time to find out my baby had a heart problem but I'm glad I knew so I could get her the best care she needed I did and now she's a happy healthy 3 1/2 yr old!

You should stop eating sweets or anything with sugar now. You are supposed to fast beforehand - at least 12 hours.

Its not about passing. If your body doesnt have the proper sugars or nutrients then your gluclose will be off. I reccommend no sugary items 24 hrs before and eat healthy. Otherwise if its gonna be off its gonna be off. Im 14 wks and took my teat yesterday but im hypoglycemic. So its to see whats going on cause i eat right take my vitamins but my blood sugar is so low. Good luck .
