I was told sleeping with a heated blanket is a complete no no in pregnancy, it even says it on the packaging so I guess heat pad on the belly overnight comes under the same warning :\ I had belly ache pretty constant for a few days and my midwife told me it's okay to put heat on it for a short period to ease the pain though.
I used one when I was having pain on my at left side of my stomach. The advice nurse said I could use one to help relieve the pain. I got one that heated up and turned on and off automatically.
There are heating pads you can get that are set on a timer and they go off on their own after so much time. Thats what i use at night as long as the heating pad is covered and not directly on the skin my doc told me its fine to use.
I wouldn't say to sleep with one on your belly, though I imagine it isn't harmful if you're using it for a short time. I sleep with an electric blanket and it helps me relax all over, I do sometimes wrap it around my waist to keep my upper half cool. Pretty close to the belly, but I'm too nervous to wrap the blanket around my bump lol
Can you take a Benadryl and see if it helps you out? It puts me to sleep out cold so I wake up very relaxed all over, no more cramps and stuff.
My doc said heating pads are safe to use but I dont know about sleeping with one. That's a long time for heat to be on one area. I wouldn't sleep with one but that's just my preference. Don't know how safe it is
My heating pad has strict restrictions on sleeping with it on.. I would read the manufacturers reference in regards to that.
I heard that you shouldn't do it!
I heard that you shouldn't do it!
I've heard it can reduce blood flow to baby so I would ask your doc first.
