Sex  did it for me, I was 38 + 2 and was only 1 cm dilated. Doctor told me to walk or try castor oil. My sisters suggested sex. At 38+4 I had sex  after not wanting to for 2 months. Next day I was having contractions. I went in to doctor 38+6 and was 4.5 cm, they told me to head to hospital, I waited for 3 hours then went to hospital and was 7cm baby cake shortly after. Good luck!!

My midwife recommended red raspberry leaf tea three times a day. I found some stuff called pregnancy tea by traditional medicinals. The reviews seem promising I am going to start drinking it tomorrow.

I believe semen may help with thinning. I think it did with my first. Not so much with my second or third. Really it just takes time and will happen when it's time. I went from 2 cm and only 40% effaced, to having my 3rd in the car on my way back to the hospital 10 hours later. Good luck ladies! I'm 11w 3d right now and haven't even gotten to see this wee one yet.
