hydrocodone and my baby
I am 7 weeks pregnant, and need some comfort from anyone with information on taking hydrocodone while pregnant. I am so scared for my baby. I have cut down to 1 and a half a day. But I keep seeing commercials of babies with birth defects and I don't want to ruin my baby's life. Please keep in mind I take this medication because I had several failed back surgeries..

Your baby will be just fine. My PCP actually gave it to me for cough when I had the flu (since there is an ingredient in the cough syrup that we preggos cannot have). Just make sure your OB is aware that you are taking them and do NOT cut down too fast. Withdrawal and the stress that comes with the withdrawals are more harmful for the baby than the actual medication.
