How long does it take for the meds they give u to start working.... What should I expect?

I went into the hospital at 5 cm.  After i didn't progress anymore after 24 hours I was given potocin I didn't deliver my little one until 12 hours later.  Total I was in labor 36 hours.

I was induced with all 3 of my children. And with my first child being induced was horrible it took 16 hours but I was only 1 cm when they started it.

My second child i was in labor for 4 hours and I was 4 cm when I went in.

With my third it took 4 hours and I was 41 weeks and 1cm dialated.

I heard the pain is worse when you are induced but I still managed to pull it off natural. The contractions to happen back to back. And if your ob is like mine they will constantly be upping the dose until of course you are fully dialated.

It depends on your body. I got induced with my son and 4 hours later I had him in my arms. My cousin got induced and was in labor without dialating or her water breaking for 6 days. Good luck though. Keep positive and congratulations in advance :)

It all depends on your body and baby everyone is different. I remember with my first when they gave me the pessery thing (in vagina) I was there for a few hours getting contractions lady next to me got hers in as soon as she came in 2 seconds later she was in labour ward x
