just found out I was pregnant.

Hello everyone I have a couple of questions. I have just found out I am surprizingly  7 wks pregnant.  Not planned at all. So here comes the hard part I am currently taking prescription drugs for chronic pain associated with one ruptured disk and two modertly bulged disk in my c spine. not to mention a list of problems in my lower back.  The medication list includes cymbalta 30mg two times per day zanaflex 4mg three times a day hydrocodone 10/325 5 times per day oxycodone 10/325 at bedtime Zofran as needed every six hours. Lexapro 10mg two in  morning. Gabapentin 1000mg three times a day and adderall 15 mg in morning and half a tab at 1:00. Should I be worried my baby is messed up by all these meds I am on? Because I am very worried. I have my first checkup next tuesday. I am so scared. I am currently being weaned off all meds. And so far I am just dying cause of my pain. My question is this. Has anyone else had chronic pain treated through out there pregnancy? Does these medicines cause problems with the baby? If my neuroligist wont treat me anymore until after i have the baby can anything help manage my pain?

I have some sever damage to my back aswell. All you can take is Tylenol.  Right before my last pregnancy Ifell and fractured my spine , where my tail boan meets my hips. Only thing I could do was take Tylenol when the pain was too much, get lots of mesages and take a warm bath.
Hang in there we are both into having a painpainful pregnancy.  With luck it will not be too bad for you. As this is your first. This is my 4th and due to a number of reasons I always end up on bed rest and/ or in the hospital.  Dispite how horrible my pregnancies are and how horrific my deliveries are, trust they are scary, (my gf who was there for my daughters said it was like watching and being in the exersisem movies) its all worth holding my new baby and watching them grow. I have a 9 year old, 4 year old, 8 month old, and am pregnant again. Hang in there every thing will be ok

Oh btw I took lexapro and stopped when I got pregnant with my 2nd. I found tons of ways of managing without meds. Worked so well Ive never had to take it again!

The only safe thing is tylenol for pain. Its a nightmare I know.
You need to talk to your doctor about the risks and whats ok and not. They may be able to tell you a way non medication ways of managing pain.

I think in your case though...the need outweighs the risk. Youve got to live!
