meditation, yoga questions

So I've dealt with some pain during this pregnancy, I've had a lot of migrains that raise my bp. I can control my bp though if I focus on being relaxed breathing good and work through the anxiety by zoning out of it best I can. So with that being said I'm looking into meditation and practicing it through my labor. I'm getting an epidural but I don't want it to soon where it will wear off, so I want to brace through the pain, and I'm not going to be able to do this without meditating, I have a very low pain tolerance. Anybody done this through labor, any tapes or particular meditation help more? Also prego yoga is something I've been trying to get into bc of the migrains, anyy yoga tape you would recommend that you really liked? Anything free on YouTube work for you real well? Send me links if you can. I'm trying to do holistic approaches to the pain I feel cause let's face it tynenol doesn't work all the time and taking it everyday is just bad for you. That and a low bp is something I want to stay with, my bp has been previously high in the past. Thank you ladies, I don't know what is do without this forum.

I have been doing at home yoga and relaxation videos for a couple years, what I do is look on amazon for workout dvds, then get them through interlibrary loan to try them out for free before I buy them, going to do the same with preg fitness vids. Waiting for Ina May's Guide to Childbirth book to come in now, heard it is great book. I recently bought the Prenatal Yoga Deck, it has breathing techniques and poses, I like it because you can go as many cards as you have time for. Also, try to spend time a couple times a day just breathing, refocus everytime your mind wanders. I have a mantra, just be and breathe, and repeat in my head to help focus; practice does help.

I too have a very low pain tolerance. I had my babygirl last August. I bought a cheap 99 cent ball that I could squezz in my hand when I got contractions. And it really help!! I'm a visual person so I would look at the screen when I was getting a contraction and squeeze the heck out of the ball till it went away. I was scared to get the epidural early as well. I waited till I was at least 5 cm dilated. 8 hours later with the epidural she finally came. I told myself next time I'm not proving nothing to no one and I'm getting the epidural as soon as I could get it!! The ball and watching the screen, and breathing help me get through it. Good luck! :)
