I'm 39+3 and was 3cm 3 days ago at the Dr and was 60% thinned out (meaning I lost 60% of my plug right?). I'm having contractions but think they're still just braxton hicks. My belly just gets really tight and it doesn't hurt too bad, just mostly uncomfortable. Is this finally the beginning of labor??

I was in labor this past weekend and didn't fully lose my plug until they had to break my water. It was coming out in small pieces. Wasn't really noticeable until the morning I went into active labor and didn't know it. I then seen a bigger chunk but I never lost it completely. Your water also doesn't have to break for you to be in labor, either.

No you don't have to lose your mucus plug completely to be in full active labor. A lot of women loose is it in small pieces & don't even realize it. You can also be in labor for hrs before it comes out. I was in labor for 30 hrs & I couldn't tell when I lost mine. Hope that answers your question.
