When you lose your plug does that mean you are starting to dial ate?

With my first- I started dialating a week before my plug came out, some short 2hrs later i started having contraction about 7-10 minutes part.
With my daughter i dont remember loosing my plug but felt the bag pop.

I go to the docter tomorrow but my docter is not useful I don't even think she's gonna check me its so frustrating
