They say to be induced within 36 hours of water breaking. I was sent home after mine broke and was induced the next evening.

She is actually from UK so they might have different guide lines there than US does. The hospital my sitter has her baby didn't believe her that her water broke and sent her home. She has her baby 26 hoursafter it broke wwhich they normally cut off at 24 hours and do a c section

I Agree With First response...I Can't Believe You Were Sent Home!!! I've Always Been Told That They Don't want The Baby To Stay In More Than 24 Hours After Your Water Breaks Because Of Infection. Mine Broke At Home Around 3Am And I wasn't Having Any Contractions. Walked Around The Hospital For 4 Hours And Still No Contractions. so They Started Pitocin Around 7Am. Was Your Doctor Called? I Just Can't Believe They Would Send Someone Home Like That.

They sent you home after your water broke?! What the heck? You can get a really bad infection if you don't have your baby within a certain time frame. My sisters water broke and she didn't have her baby until the next day and still got an infection.
