yes they may contact cups if you have drugs in your system. my dr said because I'm on methadone that cps may come and interview me when baby is born. they might not though. I guess it depends weather or not thenurses aband docs that are with me that day call them or not. idk. but I'm not worried about it. I would ask your doc and definitely tell your doc u take norco so he can treat you correctly during your pregnancy and keep an eye out for any warning signs u know? I have heard its not ok to ween or stop taking any type if opiate while pregnant bc it can cause early labor / miscarriage. they usually switch women to methadone bc its the safest duringpregnancy
I was prescribed percoset for pain from a fibroid. My Dr. assured me it was safe and it is such a small dose (5mg) that by the time it goes through my system there will be such a small amount left that it will not affect baby. I don't think your Dr. would prescribe something dangerous for your baby. Just make sure you ask questions if you have concerns.
Oh these comments put my mind at ease a little. I have been taking Norco for the past three years because of a serious knee injury. I am now trying to ween off of it for the baby's sake because I don't want him to withdrawal but it is so hard. I can't just stop cold turkey otherwise I feel like I'm dying & I'm finding it so hard to ween because I've been taking it everyday for such a long time & I'm in such pain if I don't. I feel so selfish, & I'm sure that's the first thing ppl think about women who take meds while pregnant, but some ppl just don't understand. How many did u guys take per day? I've heard too that if your baby has any type of withdrawals, they'll contact CPS... Is that true?
I took it during 3 of my pregnancies and my babies were healthy and smart. I was on a lot throughout the entire pregnancy and they never had any withdrawal symptoms.
are you taking it everyday? throughout your entire pregnancy? because I am on methadone throughout my entire pregnancy & the dr said my baby MAY or MAY NOT go thru withdrawals from the medicine when she is born and if she does she will have to stay in the nicu for a week or two to with drawl safely from the medicine. so if your taking it everyday your baby may or may not with drawl from it when its born. so just be ready to have to have your baby in the nicu for a little after birth.
Thanks I feel a little better now
I took that with both of my previous pregnancies. It is safe, my kids are happy, healthy, active, and very smart. I'm taking Vicodin with this pregnancy and I'm not having any trouble with it either.
