I also started feeling it early. It is not just preparing for baby because my house is getting cleaned but nothing is being prepared for baby. I don't even have a car seat for baby yet and I am 33 almost 34 weeks. My two year old is still using the crib as a toddler bed and I have nothing I need. I don't feel like dealing with baby stuff but the scrubbing and moping is getting done. I have not been cooking at all.
I think nesting exists, just not the correlation between cleaning and when labor will start. I'll randomly feel like cleaning and it's been like that since 20 weeks.
I think its just common sense to thoroughly clean and prepare before you know you are no longer going to have energy or time or physical ability to take care of as many things for several weeks in a row. I plan to prepare freezer meals and have everything set up and clean and in place before delivery so I can focus on healing and taking care of baby when she comes. Not really different really than cleaning up and preparing for any surgery or major life event.
I really dont think its true in my own opinion, when you get further along to your due date and your almost due, you get all emotions and you worry about if the house is goimg to be ready so you get it ready. Its normal having a pregnant women to clean and get everything ready before baby comes. Even drs tell you to have the house, room etc. Ready before baby comes home so its easier for you or daddy too.
Yes. True nesting is even a sign of upcoming labor (in the weeks to follow)
It exists. I don't feel like doing anything but cleaning. I hurt too bad and am too uncomfortable to do anything but I can get out my cleaners and scrub the house with very little problem.
I feel like nesting does exist. I'm in the same boat as caseysmommy, I don't feel like doing anything cuz my hips hurt, feet hurt, I can hardly bend over and do things cuz my tummy is so big, but I know that the whole entire house will need to be cleaned before baby comes. Somehow, I will gather up the energy to make sure baby comes home to a squeaky clean home, and I will enlist the rest my hubby and son when that urge to nest happens a upon me..lol.
I dont think its boredom so much as just knowing you wont have time to get things done once baby is here so you feel the need to have everything clean and meals prepped and in the freezer to make everything a little easier the first few weeks after you come home so your not stressed trying to find time to clean and cook along with finding time to sleep and see your baby and other kids if you have them as well as your husband ect. For me I know im having a csection so I want everything as clean as possible so I dont feel overwhelmed with a dirty house when I know I wont be able to move around easily enough to clean it afterwards.
Nesting exists!! Since about 30 weeks I have had no desire to do anything. This morning when I woke up I cleaned the entire house! I'm 36 weeks and 3 days! Idk where this burst of energy came from but it came out of nowhere
