pregnancy massage?

I am currently 31weeks and having bad backpain. My doc suggested maternity massege to relaxing muscle. Some my friends said it is not safe to get massage on 3rd trimester... Anyone had pregnancy massge?

I got one a few weeks ago! It was amazing!! They are trained to know where not to touch and what nerves and areas to stay away from. It was the best thing I've ever spent money on in my entire life lol. Relieves pains for a few weeks if not more. :)

I had it at 20 weeks and one a few days ago at 37 weeks and it's amazing. I highly recommend it. Massage therapists know about the areas not to massage when a lady is pregnant.

I'm a masseuse and have massage plenty of pregnant women when I was still working, massage is only not safe in the first trimester. As long as your in a comfortable position massage any time after that is fine.

I just got one the other day at 39 weeks. It was amazing for my aching back.

The only reason some people advise against it is because there is a pressure point in I think your ankle or foot and supposedly induces labor. There isn't really any scientific backing behind it.

Don't let it scare you. If you are sore it will be amazing.

I highly recommend it, it fixed my back!! I can walk the whole day and my back isn't sore anymore. Before my pelvic bone and legs were sore and ever since the massage i have had nothing.

i got a prenatal massage in my 3rd trimester and it was amazing. I would say it was the normal massage pressure, but the difference with prenatal massage is the masseuse is certified in massaging a pregnant person. Do not just get a normal massage. Also, some places have tables with a cutout for belly so you can lay face down. mine did and it felt so great to lay that way. Others will have you lay on your side, but i asked dr prior to going and she said it was totally fine as long as it was a prenatal/pregnancy massage. I 100% recommend it for anyone!!! I want another, but am at 38 weeks, so i'm almost done and massages are not cheap. lol

I used to get deep tissue massage on a monthly basis. Just thought I'd share.

I did in my 2nd trimester.  It's a very light massage they don't do deep tissue at all. I was disappointed because my Dr I suggested I get massage because I was getting constant tension headaches everyday.  But it was relaxing.
