sex after delivery

I am wondering how long people waited after you had a baby to have sex again. I know with my first my doc said 6 wks but I was single long before that point and stayed that way for a while. I'm married now and know my hubby won't last lol. I do remember I had stopped bleeding and stitches were gone after about 10 days with my first.

I know how he feels. I wanted a way to 'thank' my hubby for such an amazing gift. I was more in love w him then ever! We waited the 6 weeks Dr suggested but you don't have to rule out oral sex for him.

Haha that's been ruled out long ago just something I'm not comfortable with. I guess I would like my normal sex life back too!

hey,
i had a vaginal delivery and we had sex within two weeks of delivery. when we went for our checkup with the doctor we told him and he said if i felt fine and it didn't hurt that that was fine. i wasn't bleeding either so felt normal. sometimes you start something and its hard to stop the ball from rolling. ; )
just play it safe, use lubricant and stop if it hurts you.
you can always find other ways to entertain him. : )

We waited 3 weeks and not to scare you but it hurt for me so than we ended up waiting til week 6 and it felt so much better! Just do it when you feel ready.

With my first and second we waited 6 weeks because of tearing and wanted to make sure everything was healed ok.

We waited 4 weeks, I just didn't feel like it personally and he didn't care.

I think that its personally up to you, if you feel ready to go, then go :) only you will know how your body feels and if your still tender or anything like that, waiting the full 6 wks now is pretty old fashioned, especially if you have had a normal vaginal delivery with no complications :)

I waited the usual 6wks if normal vb then its up to the individual. I think after a section should wait more I did after my 2nd. But the bond was special more love after seeing our new arrival.
Also a reliable contraceptive is the key don't want to be preg again so soon after lol
