sex of baby

Was anyone told what they are having without having a ultrasound?  I did have 1 at 11 weeks and from what I know they can't see anything yet but they did blood work ( lots of it ) and I have heard they have a new test that tells the sex that way. Anyone experienced this? Jw I was told we are having a girl and I have a ultrasound on the 22nd of next month to make sure.

I found out through a CVS test that takes cells from the placenta and checks for chromosomal abnormalities. I had it done due to the complication of advanced paternal age, but they can tell you with it at 9 weeks with 100% accuracy the gender of the baby. In my case it revealed we were having a little girl.

My girlfriend found out via bloodwork. Blood tests are far more accurate than ultrasounds
