so upset really need to switch Dr's office. any advice

So I'm 38.5 weeks had my Dr appt today. I've always been seen by different drs at the clinic. I have gd and was told by one Dr at 34 weeks I would be induced at 38 due to that. Well I've never been happy with my Dr and now its far beyond worse. Today at my appt the Dr that has been recently seeing me , the first thing she asks is if im planning on having more kids. I say no BC I really am not, she answers I shouldn't BC of my age and my illness. Who the fuvk is she to say that's ****!?!?! I'm only 28!! And my illness? What gd? Smh. Then I told her all my symptoms I've been having including horrible diarrhea in hopes she would give me something and the only thing she says is "you know why you have all these symptoms, bc the baby's coming" like seriously! Smh. At last I asked her about the induction and she said they don't induce, I said I was told I would be induced bc of the gd and she said nope that's no reason and we don't do that. She told me once the baby gets to big they'll schedule me a c section. Wth?!? I don't want a c section. I have an HMO and I desperately need to switch any advise please!!!???

I had a similar experience but I'm not as far along. I changed doctors right away. Mine said if I didn't lose weight during and after this pregnancy,  that I wouldn't see my baby graduate.  Mind you I'm not like 250+ and I'm healthy. Only thing is since I became pregnant I have gd. I just don't get how they think they can say anything and get away with it.

That's simple bullying and coercion right there. Man, just saw in the news yesterday about a woman bullied into a section and her doctors reporting her to cps because she didn't want to. What is with this culture that doesn't respect a woman to give birth how she wants and takes that away from her?!

Clinics and Dr. practices with more then 1 dr will have you see all the Dr's due to the fact that anyone of them will be on call and possibly deliver you.  Thats common practice.  My biggest concern for you is the unease you feel toward your current office.  Childbirth is hard enough without not trusting the person bringing your little one into the world.  Consider that by the time you get into a new drs office you would be able to induce or deliver anyway and ask for a date when a dr you trust from the clinic is on call.  Try not to stress it to much you know your body and baby best and stress just leads to additional issues especially with GD.  Besides once you hold baby for the first time all this will seem small incomparison.

what kind of scetchy place is this?
Different doctors each time?
A Dr giving unproffessional and unrelevant opinions? I'm turning 30 in September and I'm also a FTM, and everyone keeps calling me young over and over..I might look 23, but from the papers they can see I'm far from it.
Is she calling you unhealthy because of seemingly normal pregnancy side-effects?
Are you SURE she was a doctor???

Anyway, I really hope you do find another doctor.
Best of luck hun!

@ Ross I felt so bad! She seriously made my stomach hurt so bad! Definitely not going back there and if I do I will request not to see her at all. I don't need this at this time.
@acarlough well the only reason I asked about the induction this time was bc the other Dr that was seeing me before this one had said due to gd I would get induced at 38 weeks. I don't think they know what they're doing anymore. Thank you so much for the advice though. I will get to that tomorrow and see what happens. Again thank you so much.
@dollface I really hope it doesn't come down to that . I will refuse to it unless I have no other choice. Thanks for the info.

They can't make you get a c-section unless the baby's health is in danger or you happen to go unconscious.

I work in a hospital and legally they can't induce before 39 weeks insurance will not pay for it.  You can switch drs at any time they can not stop you however alot of drs will be hard pressed to take you this late.  But you have rights and they trump your practitioners feelings towards you.  If you know where you want to deliver you can go to the hospitals website and look to see the obgyns associated with that hospital.  That is where I would start looking for a new dr.  First let them know your predicament and simply let them know your previous dr did a few things that made you lose faith in them.  Ask if they are available to see you and when.  If you have contractions at any point at or after 39 weeks run to a hospital and tell them you are having contraction and you have GD, that you are concerned.  Chances are they will induce at that point or check you in. Hang in there.  Baby will come when it's ready.

Oh wow that's horrible and yes they show be checking to see if you've dilated any. I would be just as pissed as you are but since you're so close I doubt if another dr would see you at this point but hey you could always call around and see if another office would be willing to. I wish you all the best with everything.

Thank you ladies for your support. I live in Calif. To think I was actual  having a good day today and was really feeling even well and now with this I'm so upset I even have a horrible stomach ache.
@thenewmrs_b really? The tea worked for someone? Omg i want to try it now. I really don't want a c section. I would have no one to help me thru the recovery process. :'(

Im so sorry you had to handle that!!! I seriously wish every woman could just relocate to my town and go to my practice... They are by far the best I've ever seen with their ldrp dept being top 10 in the country... I'm so sorry

Is there anyway you can at least call the office and try to speak to the Dr that promised you an induction? Or maybe try going to the hospital and talking to a Dr there about your issues and the fact that baby is so big. I know my lo is already about 9-10lbs and if I was already having a section they would have induced last week just for him being so big... I'm sorry I don't have better advice

Maybe try the tea. I think you suggested it to some other women and it started contractions for her... Camomile I believe it was... Good luck and keep is posted

No she didn't go there! that does sound terrible. I would want to switch too. At my clinic im always seen by different drs and I feel like they lack attention to the patients when its like that. If I were you id file a grievance against that dr and try to be seen by your previous dr.

WOW! Seriously how rude and I think unprofessional of her to say those things to you!  I'd be pissed too! I'm 27 going to be 28 in 2 months with severe rheumatoid arthritis and my drs have never said such a rude thing to me and if anything try to talk me or of tying my tubes but my family is all for me not having anymore kids. But ya I would definitely request not see that dr or even have her touch me!

I had GD and my doctor scheduled an induction for 39 weeks... 2 days before my induction I went in and they checked me for dilation and I was a 4... she stripped my membranes and my water broke the next day... it's bs that she said if baby gets too big they will just do a c section... I would want to switch too but I don't know if you can since your soo close

You don't have to get a c-section. It's your body. Where are you from? There are some states that are really pushy about c-sections.

Oh and also the Dr didn't even check me for dilation or anything else like that. Aren't they suppose to start checking since like last week? Or at least for infections or anything like that?
