They say its genetic but I don't think that's 100% true. My mom got them and I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and have one small one where my belly button piercing was..no more- I was also small and very toned before pregnancy. I use Vaseline cocoa and Shea butter lotion, Palmers with vitamin E (not the tummy butter) and olive oil in the shower. Nice skin starts from within though
Eat healthy and stay hydrated :-)

Oil definitely helps from getting stretch marks hands down! I used baby oil or even coconut oil. It keeps your growing tummy moisterizied! Also try not to scratch even though that can be so hard rub!! Hope that helps.

I have stretch marks from puberty on my hips, inner and upper thighs, and butt. I used Bella B Tummy Honey Butter from duematernity.com and I didn't get any stretch marks when  I am obviously prone to them. As soon as I found out I was expecting again I ordered it. I'm using it again in case that is what prevented them the first time. When you register you get your first one free. It has everything in one butter that any other product key has one ingredient of...cocoa, jojoba oil, shea, olive, and aloe vera. It's petroleum free and organic.

I used bio oil my first pregnancy and I didn't have any stretch marks until I had my baby.. My stomach and legs were covered. It was disappointing but if your going to get them there is nothing you can do

I think I am more worried about the itchiness from them more than actually getting them. Thank you!

You cant prevent stretch marks of it is in your genes. But it will help keep it smooth and make them look lighter if you do get them. Plus can help with itching
