Its given to you so that you can pass the antibodies onto your baby for their first few months before they start getting immunisations. Ive actually got whopping cough at the moment but will still get the injection at 28 weeks just so they are topped up before they're born. Whooping cough is causing a high number of new born deaths which is why UK NHS are now offering it to every pregnant women from 28 to 38 weeks.
I have jad the whooping cough vaccine and it was fine,did not feel any different after apart from a sore arm
I'm sure it would be fine, the flu vaccine is more important. Have you discuss it with your doctor, I'm sure you don't have to take it.
My ob just made me get it on Tuesday I was then 34wks 5days and if its gonna protect my baby from getting sick I don't see the problem
