why did you need a c-section?

Im a first time mom and dont know too much about labor or delivery yet. Im 13 weeks. Im curious to know how common c-sections are? Im sure there are many reasons, but what was the reason you needed to get one? What was your experience? My sister was fully dilated and looked perfect until babys heartrate dropped and within 5 minutes they had wisked her away to the ORan d cut while she still felt it. She ended up getting put out completely with general anesthesia. It was a nightmare. That's the only c-section story i know of. Im keeping my fingers xrossed for a vaginal birth but i want to be well informed.

I have a large ovarian cysts and could cause complications during Labour so csection and they will perform surgery at the same time. I'm a first time mom so I do sometimes feel sad I don't get to birth naturally but I will do what ids less risk for my baby

I was three days away from my due date and my bp was 150/100. So the doctors made me go the the hospital and they deceided to induce me. Long story short I had preaclympica which I'm finding out now that I am pregnant again 11 yes later. My platelets were dropping. After 72 hours of no progression they find out that because I had my cervix frozen due to pre cancerous cells. I was not going to diolate. Had to be put under general. Couldn't see my son for 12 hours. 6 hrs he had to be on oxygen 6 hrs to watch him. Then they pressed down with their hand to see if my uterus went down right were they cut me open now epidural or pain meds mind you. Worst pain of my life. They put me on morphine drip. It was about 2 months of pain can't go up and down stairs for awhile. Hopefully when I deliver this time it would be much better.

Failure to progress I think is what they called it. I was having regular contractions, to the point they had to stop induction because they were afraid my uterus would rupture. I barely felt them but could tell when they were happening, like braxton hicks. Finally after 2 attempts 2 different days my cervix wasn't dialating at all. So they c sectioned. I opted to get a c section straight away this time.

This will be my 4th c section and each one gets easier. I had my first because my oldest son's heart rate was decelerating at 36 weeks so they did an emergency c section. The other ones were scheduled. I actually like the experience. Just stay drugged up and you'll only feel minimal pain

My sister had preeclampsia with her second so they did a section. She had two naturally births afterwards. My sil had a section with her fifth because he was breech. The rest of her six were natural.

When my sister was born the cord was wrapped around her neck so they did an emergency c section.  I havent experienced one myself nor do i know the statistics of how common they are.  Just remember however your baby comes into the world you did your job by keeping him/her safe and nourished until they were born. It is normal to have fears about having a c section.  This is my second baby and i am still worried i may have to have one or be induced!

My first had wrapped herself in her cord and was in distress. They even had a hard time getting her out via c-section.

My 3rd baby was in distress. There was a thunderstorm the night I went into labor. The lightning struck so close to my window that I jump on the floor out of my rocking chair. I then crawled as fast as I could a few feet away to my bbathroom. Think that could've been the reason she was in distress.

Went into labor at 25 1/2 wks. Had an emergency csection and will always have to have one now. I'm actually very happy I will never have to push anything out of my vagina.... Its entrance only!! :)

I'm having a c-section in a week and it's bc my baby is breached. He's butt first. I'm terrified of having this done and REALLY, REALLY wish I didn't have to :(

I had a c-section only because i gave birth to twins and baby b was breached. I have to admit it was a horrible experience for me. Very painful and took longer to heal. My sutures came open on the left side of my incision. My scar on my left side is noticeable. But since then i have had a VBAC which was better than my c-section

My water broke and then I never progressed past 3cm. The doctors at my hospital don't want you to go past 24 hrs after water breaking for risk of infection. He said my baby 2 as probably a big one and my birth canal was just too small...low and behold my 9 lb 3 Oz first baby girl was born! Lol everything went smoothly. Will be getting a repeat csection if this baby measures big as well.

My bones are to small. I will never be able to have a natural birth. This is my second so i know what to expect. But for my first they tried to make me push and she got stuck at 5cm and her heart rate started to drop.
