worried

Well I'm from Dallas and just found out this guy with the Ebola virus is here in Dallas and possibly got 5- 8 people sick with it. The other people are being monitored but thankfully haven't showed any symptoms. But now that I have a toddler and I'm 27 weeks pregnant makes me feel unsecured about this ebola :/ but anyways what do you ladies think about this topic?

This isn't really an appropriate topic for our Pregnancy forum, and several off-topic remarks have been removed.  If you have concerns about contracting Ebola, please speak with your doctor and discuss precautionary measures you can take.

And for the record he didn't know he was sick when he came Back it was 7days later he started to feel sick and the stupid hospital turned him away when he said he thought he Contracted Ebola. They didn't take it serious and sent him away. So we can't even count on the hospitals...

I don't know what to say about the illegal topic since I come from grandparents who where once illegal and thanks to them my parents and I myself am blessed to be born in this country.  But I do think we all need a chance in life. This guy came with a visa knowing he had been in contact with a dying person with ebola in Africa and I'm pretty sure he came here because he knew there was a higher chance he would be getting a better treatment here. But the idea of this virus getting spread out is just what worries me more.

Yes just that even if i try to stay clean there's just some people that are nasty and don't cover when they sneez or cough.  And kids they don't know they want everything in their mouth and want to touch everything too. Just heard in the news and on Facebook news this person came in contact with 80people. And we have this state fair here this time around its unbelievable to think how this can spread by people not being clean and washing their hands and stuff like that

Just know that Ebola is transferred through bodily fluid. Meaning sweat, blood, urine, saliva, tears etc. And has to be transferred into your bodily fluids so don't drink after people. Make sure all wounds are covered if you have any. Don't sit on toilet seats. Don't come in any contact with other ppls fluids and wash your hands often and definitely before you eat. It takes a while for symptoms to show but Ebola symptoms are very typical.. Like headache fever body aches sometimes sore throat so people could be symptomatic and able to pass it and you just think it is a common virus. Also it can live outside of a body on surfaces for around a day in current Texas weather. So if someone sneezed on something etc and you touch it later not knowing and then don't wash your hands before you eat etc etc... So just stay vigilant

Yeah that is true I'm luckily not close and don't know anyone who has come in contact with it. I know we should not live in fear.  But as every mother i don't really fear for me i fear for my child and my unborn child they are my priority and i wouldn't want them to get this. I just hope they can get this under control and this person can get cured.

Besides they said on the news that it's not contagious unless they have started showing symptoms. Health care in America is so advanced and prepared as compared to those third world countries.

I live in Dallas too and all I can say is you cannot live in fear. There's a person shot everyday and thousands die every year here in accidents. If we were to live in fear, we would never get in a car or much less leave our homes. Obviously we should take precautions. All we can really do is have faith and try to live happy.

It disgusting to hear this. Now I just want my 7 year old to stay home with us. I'm 32 weeks and although I do not live where you all live. I also read about this and seen it on the news. Whatever your gut says do it, take no chances.

I was just watching the news. It can only be spread through bodily fluids. It is very hard to contract. I think I'll start wearing masks in public. People can be quite disgusting when you actually pay attention to them.

I live a minute away from texas Presbyterian and I'm in the middle of all five schools where the kids went. Shouldn't really worry if you havent came in contact with the sick person.
