Of course you can eat fruit when you breastfeed. Salad is also fine but certain things react differently for different babies. Things that make a lot of people gassy like beans or broccoli may make your baby gassy too, but it's really trial and error. My 1st daughter got upset tummy whenever I ate a lot of dairy even though neither of us is lactose intolerant...

I don't think any foods are going to make your breast milk better than what it is already. I do know for sure that certain foods will make the baby fussy or gassy...to me was beans, eggs, any of the dark veggies like broccoli or collard greens. Don't know if it's different for each person.
