One day period not pregnant for another month

is driving me crazy....I am very regular every 28 days and I had a period on Aug 4th. I expected the next one around Sept 3. I started my period on Sept 2nd I felt very nauseated and it was very light and just felt odd. I said to my husband I know I just started my period but I am 90% sure I am pregnant I have never felt more positive. I didn't think of being pregnant prior to that day. My period stopped the next day. I thought wow I must be pregnant, (I have three other children 9, 8, 2) so I took a test -- neg took a test every week -- neg on the fourth test on Oct 1st it was positive. I go to the doctor on Oct 10 and he says he doesn't see a baby and it may have died I go through all this bloodwork and such to determine that I am only 7 wks along...He insists still that my conception had to have been around Sept 20th....So...how is that possible? I had a one day light period and felt pregnant but just happened to get pregnant when I thought I already was? Dr. says that sonogram is very accurate and can not be wrong that early...though my hcg levels were very very high for that time. I guess I couldn't have been pregnant or a test would have tested positive earlier right? My due date is June 14th and now that it is so close to that time I am really starting to wonder what happened????Could I have been pregnant or is there some weird cycle that can occur to make you more fertile?? Please point me in some direction...

That exact same thing happened to me with babes #2 and 4! Weird huh?
I'm a 28 dc too...so thought it kind of odd when it happened to me as well. Was told that I probably got pregnant just as I was about to start period...ovulation is a strange thing. Just because your cycles are "normal" doesn't mean that your ovulation cycle is. That's what the last ob/gyn told me anyway.

That is what I am starting to think because I am pretty sure that I had slept with my husband on Aug 28th and Sept 1st then we had his family visiting from out of town for 3 weeks, so we didn't do anything during that time because our daughter slept with us. Can a vaginal ultrasound be off at all that early though? I hear they are dead on and my dr said I should never question it because they are so accurate and he knows that it is right...So, if I conceived on Sept 1st could that slow my period? then I would implant 7-10days later which would only be about a week -week 1/2 off...so that isn't as bad then...
I don't need to worry as much about that then. I have with every pregnancy gone into labor 3 days before my due date. Guess we will see what happens.
