Ovulation questions

Can anyone tell me what ovulation feels like?  I have been TTC since my miscarriage last year in March.  I took a couple of months (mental) break and now we are TTC again since 1/1/11.  I bought OPKs many times, but have no clue what ovulation feels like.  Its it a pinch, bubbly feeling, cramp, liquidy feeling, etc.??  Please help.  I am 36 years old and conceiving has been difficult since my miscarriage.  My periods are now crazy and almost every 21-24 days.  I also have spotting between periods.  I am hoping and praying that this happens soon, as im getting older and its becoming more difficult, especially since I have hypothyroid.  Also, I have in the past checked my cervical mucus, but noticed that I get the mucus after ovulating, not during, which confuses me!

I went off BC pills right after we got married, and like many, thought we would conceive right away.  it took about 2 months for my cycle to return but it was pretty irregular.  then all of a sudden it stopped!  i finally got in to see my OB and she put me on Clomid.  the first cycle didn't do anything and then the second cycle we conceived.  so in one way, it took us a year to conceive but once everything was working, we conceived on our first try!  lucky, I guess.  :)

Then I got pregnant again earlier this year after trying for about 4 months.  We were devastated to find out that there were chromosomal abnormalities and terminated at 14 weeks.  That was this past July and as i think you feel, the emotional toll is rough.

I am on synthroid.  I try hard to keep my levels as normal as possible and get my leves checked every three months.  im glad you responded.  Did it take long for you to conceive before your two year old?

That is confusing!  We are also back to TTC since Sept, after a D&C in July.  But my cycles are loooong...like 34-38 days.  I think there are plenty of people who experience ovulation "pain" or a twinge on one side or the other, but many people (like myself) really only experience EWCM.  Many also experince lighter AF symptoms, like breast tenderness.  For me, the EWCM occurs about 2-3 days prior to seeing a positive OPK.  of course, this cycle is totally whacky and i'm now on day 23 and no positive OPK!  Ugh.

And you're not old!  I'm 39 and have a 2.5 year old and am trying to stay positive this time around.

Are you on meds for your hypo?  and what day are starting to test?  Seems like you should start very early, maybe day 7 or 8?
