Your very earliest preg signs?

Even before you knew you were pregnant, but suspected something was happening.  Can you describe some of your signs that were different, not the typical top 10.

I suspect that as older women, more in-tune with the natural rhythms of our bodies, we feel differences at the very earliest stages, even before HCG goes up.  I am almost sure that I have had some signs that told me that I was pregnant, and I was pregnant 2 times so far since July, but both ended in miscarriage.  I have searched the net with so many key words, but haven't been able to find anything about early pregnancy signs in older women.  Can you tell me about your earliest hints?

I may be crazy, but these are mine:
-a slight flutter in my chest, like a skipped beat once in awhile (maybe due to increasing blood
volume?)
-hot flashes, worse when I am getting a hot shower, or drinking something hot
-mild nagging headache
-breast sensitivity, but not really soreness
-copper penny taste -- all the time
-blaaaa feeling
-extreme short-temper -- like telling my teen-aged son "NO" when he asked to take a shower -- what am I nuts?
- strange cravings, like Fig Newtons?? What in the world...

Tell me all your unusual symptome, as I look to you guys for the real world advice all the time.

Thanks, Angie

This is my 4th pregnancy, one MC.. one of my first symptoms were sense of smell like you would not believe! heartburn, and increased thirst. But the thirst quickly changed to being disgusted with water! morning sickness didn't really start until about 5 or 6 weeks and hasn't stopped yet. Although, with the great help of Zofran, it sure has slacked off!! .. Cravings.. cucumbers, green peppers, spicy food, brussel sprouts, and ice!!

Mine was increased sense of smell too...loved coffee but the mere wiff would send me running for the toilet bowl!! Also (this is the weirdest but most reliable) waves of nausea as soon as my husband ejaculated inside me!!!

I have been pregnant 3 times and each time I was pregnant, I got very nauseous and threw up some time around implantation.  It happened all three times and was the only time I ever got sick during any of those pregnancies (first two were m/c though).  I think my body just reacted to the first burst of hcg each time and it made me have severe indigestion and nausea.  But it did not last (except for the indigestion) and I never had morning sickness or anything like that.  It was a one time thing each time!!

MY earliest pg symptoms (prior to missed AF) were mildly sore bbs (mostly around the edges), consistent mild heartburn (in the evenings) and increased thirst. I've be pg twice (first time was ectopic), and both times I noticed increased thirst.  I have never seen this listed as an early pg symptom but for me, I know it is.

Both times I knew I was pg even before I could get a positive hpt.  And I test early.  My conscious mind wants to say it was the sore bbs, and I do think it was partly that, but there is also something that I can't explain.. I just knew it was different then previous cycles.

I can remember after my second IUI, even before AF came.. I knew it didn't work.  There was no doubt in my mind that I wasn't pg.  I just felt like I knew my boby, and my body was telling me I wasn't pg.  And I wasn't.

I think sometimes the mind can play tricks on you, but if you listen to your body, it will let you know.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Angie,  I am 38, and also got very early weird signs.  I di mc 3 times this year, but my goofy signs were crying over nothing, also icky copper taste, feeling like you say "blah".  I HATE spicy food, and found myself putting tabasco sauce on EVERYTHING.  Also the very mild nagging headache.  And yes, the very short temper.  Yelled at my cat for kneeding on my tummy??? I think he knew, because he never did that before.  Good luck!!!  SSBD  Tina
