At this point it could happen really fast, or it could be a few more weeks. Every pregnancy is different. I was only dialated 1 cm and a week later went into hard labor...I did wind up with a c-section, but for different reasons. I was actually in the hospital when hard labor started as they already knew he was going to come by c-section. As it turned out he was coming one way or another that night.
Good luck, it won't be too much longer now.
You're just going to have to wait till the doctor tells you that he/she is ready to come out. My baby was ready to come out at 36 and a half weeks. My water broke and then I had to be induced and she came out the same day. It was the best day ever! She was high until the day my water broke. It might have been because her cousin was playing around with my tummy the day before. I think she wanted her revenge! LOL. Fortunately at about 40 weeks, depending on your doctor, they'll suggest an induction. Once that happens, the contractions will start and you'll begin dilating pretty fast. I know that every woman is different but I dilated fully about 5 hours after induction. It took an hour and a half for her to come out but there she was! Best day ever! Just be patient...maybe your water will break tomorrow!
