3 healthy children and 2 miscarriages

Hi I am 34 years old and will be 35 in February 2008.  I just had my 2 miscarriage.  I had two boys when I was 26 and 28, then waited a few years and got pregnant when I was 32 (turning 33 the next month) and had a miscarriage at 4 1/2 weeks (3 days after my missed period).  The following month I turned 33 and got pregnant with my third son who is a healthy baby boy!  We now want to try for our 4th child and found out at 11 weeks that I miscarried.  I had an ultrasound at 11 weeks but there was an empty sac (which they are called a blighted ovum) so we are not sure when I miscarried as I had a 6 week ultrasound which confirmed heartbeat and then a miscarriage at 11 weeks so could have happened at 7 or 8 weeks.  I am so scared as I do not want to have to keep going through this or God forbid giving birth to a child with medical conditions.  It does not seem to be a genetic issue as I have had 3 beautiful healthy children, however could I have a bunch of "old or unhealthy) eggs and could put myself at rish of carrying a child with health issues.  I am so scared yet want another child so bad.  I would appreciate your experiences and feedback.  Thank you and God Bless!

Thank you I appreciate any comments.  It is truly a hard thing to go through.  I hope that God gives us another blessing in the near future.  I really want another baby as this would be our last and a healthy child is all I ask for.  Thanks for your support and comments!

I too have had two m/cs as well as healthy pregnancies.  I would definitely try again - you're still young!  I agree w/the above poster that having three healthy pregnancies works in your favor.  Usually m/c's in the 1st trimester are due to a chromosone factor even though one has had healthy pregnancies but that isn't always true.  Good luck to you! - jennifer (17w2d).

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's truly a devastating experience.

Having a miscarriage is actually not that uncommon, though. From what I've heard, most women experience at least one in their life. So considering you've already had three healthy pregnancies, I wouldn't worry too much about "unhealthy" eggs. I've had two miscarriages myself...and I'm not giving up! If you and your significant other want another baby, I don't think you should give up yet either :-)
