I am not certain what to tell you, except that your ultrasound should give you some answers. I do know that my little man seems to have growth spurts, then slow down, speed up, etc. Sometimes he has measured way ahead, other times behind a bit. However, I am told he is about what he should be and on track. Perhaps it's the same for your little one? I hope tomorrow's ultrasound puts your mind at ease. Good luck.
if this is your first baby you could have dropped already making your measurments about the same as they had been. I wouldnt worry too much if baby has been growing fine up untill now and you have a good strong heart beat and baby is kicking. Good luck with your u/s!
This concerns me, as my doctor hasn't been measuring the baby at my last few appointments. Actually, she hasn't done an u/s in the office for awhile, but I have had a third trimester u/s at the specialty place. She measures my belly with a tape, but doesn't look at him/her on the machine.
Should she be? I'm going to my appt. in the morning - should I ask to have the L'il Monkey measured?
after 36 weeks fundus measurents using a tape are not reliable. Babies drop around this stage and they change positions too. From one appointment to the next they could be in a ball but other days stretched out. I am 37 weeks now and 2 weeks ago my measurements changed and I was measuring small for gestational age by about 4 cm which means 4 weeks behind. I had an ultrasound today and all is fine with my baby girl.. She is weighing at 6 lbs 3 oz and only 2 weeks behind. I was told at this stage it didnt matter since babies grow at their own rate. As long as she is active at her usual times, good heart rate, then odds are she is fine. Sometimes low fluid can change measurements or cord compression. If it were a major concern theyd have sent you for an u/s. Ask about getting one to maybe help ease your mind. Small build ppl tend to have smaller looking bellies late in pregnancies I'm a small build person and people keep telling me I look great for 37 weeks. Your baby could just be small too for that reason but u/s is more accurate... Not a tape measure.good luck :)
