5 wks and have a dull ache on lower left side

Hi ladies I am 5 wks pregnant (found out last Tuesday) and I have had a dull ache in my lower abdomen. Should I be concerned? It seems to ache in my leg some too. Have any of you experienced this? What could it be? I'm so worried I will miscarry. I have had no spotting what so ever and the ache seems to get better when I am standing. Any ideas on this?

I so completely understand how you feel.  I worried through my entire pregnancy with my now 8 month old.  It's hard to relax and enjoy.  It's hard for me to advise you as to whether or not to call your OB, but here is what I can tell you.  If you are concerned call.  Always listen to your instincts.  There is nothing wrong with seeing him/her, even if it turns out to be peace of mind.  Sometimes I think we are scared to call because we worry we are bothering them, or being silly.  No such thing.  This is your body and your pregnancy, and they work for you.

Go with what you think and feel is the right thing to do!!!  Please let us know how things are going!

Thanks so much, and thanks for the response. My pain is on the left and it's not always there. I am trying so hard to relax during this pregnancy but it's so hard because we want this baby so badly!! My first OB appt is not until Nov 1st (seems so far away) so should I call them before hand? I am getting my first beta done tomorrow but they are not seeing me.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!

It does often come with all sorts of new cramps, aches and pains.  It is unlikely it is anything to be concerned about, but it is always a good idea to let your OB know at your next (or perhaps in your case, first!) appointment.  Yes, I had it as well and all was fine.  It seems to be most common on the right side then left?  Not certain why that is, but my OB told me that, and it seems that is where most women have this complaint.

Congrats again, and I wish you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy!!
