8 weeks and spotting

This is my forth pregnancy and I have never had "breakthrough bleeding" before. We just moved and I do not have an OB yet. I am 8 weeks and have been spotting for three days... not a full panty liner a day, but some true red blood, some pink and some brown. It is not all day, very off and on. My hormones seemed higher this time because I turned a pregnancy test before my missed period for the first time. I am normally nauseated by this point though and I am not this time. I feel good. No fever. No pain. Just the spotting. But I am struggling not to really worry. I am so excited about this pregnancy.  I have thought about an ER visit just to get an ultrasound and check the heartbeat,  but I am not in an area with the best ERs. I dont want to get some crazy germs there. Anyone have experience with breakthrough bleeding?

They can do an ultrasound to make sure the baby isn't in your tubes, blood work and check your urine. I would put my feet up every time it happened to me and tried not to stress, but a visit couldn't hurt.

I too had some spotting. I only had spotting very light and red, just when I wiped and decided to go to ER. All they do is blood work, and ultrasound to see if baby is alive. They really don't do anything other than recommend you follow up with obgyn which I did 2 days later. She recommended no physical activity, no lifting, no intercourse and plenty of rest. I've been good overall . Had another day of spotting, but brownish and vekry light only lasted about an hour. I'm  my 9th week and went to obgyn again this week. Baby ok and all blood work good. But listen to your instinct. If you are not feeling good then just go to ER for piece of mind.

Do you know what they can do though? My understanding is nothing really. I have read to avoid intercourse,  rest, avoid heavy lifting,  etc. But nothing the doctors can really do. I can call the OB I am scheduled to use and see if he could work me in Monday. He xould measure my HcG levels and see if they are rising, but I dont think he can do anything if they are not.

I would go to the ER ASAP. Usually when your pregnant they don't place you with the regular sick people. Best wishes. I'm 30 weeks with baby #4
